How I got this bike
For the first time in 56 years of riding I made a purely emotional motorcycle purchase. It wasn't about the bike's ride or utility or potential resale. The retro styling, the sound of the 60's styled exhausts and the feel of the the low-end torque did it for me. When I saw this listed locally, I rode my 650 Vstrom over to check it out. A quick ride around the neighborhood and it was a done deal. Came with new tires and had 5,500 miles. The retro elements:

2024 For the first few rides I was getting used to the the low-end torque (max. at 2,800 rpm) and the limited horsepower (47 max.). The low, flat bars put some weight on my wrists and palms. Vibrations smooth out over 70. Despite the small fairing, the bike feels ok up to about 80 mph with not much left after that. Oil change at 5,748 mi. 20-50 KN303 filter. 50 mpg on regular gas. Not big on performance, but spirited riding yields agile handling even if the seat is firm and the bars twitch on bumps (possibly related to center groove tread of the front tire. |

This bike never clicked for
me despite its great looks and appealing exhaust sound. However, the
ride was uninspiring. And while somewhat agile, it wasn't the sporty
but classic experience I wanted. Last ride. After listing on Facebook Marketplace for 10 weeks I sold this bike on June 16, 2025. It had 6,303 miles. I'd ridden it for 800, 60 on the last day. |
